Mary Burg
Executive Assistant to the Chancellor

Mary serves as the office manager, directing special projects, troubleshooting, and tracking issues. She also is the chancellor's primary liaison with the Board of Regents and other officials. A North Carolina native, Mary has a background in arts management and higher education administration. She is also active in the community and serves on the Community Cooperation Committee, a subcommittee of the Lawrence Community Commission on Homelessness, and on the Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America Board of Trustees.

Jeff Weinberg
Assistant to the Chancellor

With a lengthy resume of community activism including leading a United Way campaign, Jeff Weinberg serves as the chancellor's chief liaison to the Lawrence community. He also oversees the university's most important formal custom, the annual commencement ceremony, revered as the long awaited "walk down the hill." A former school teacher with an expertise in British history, Jeff is a native of Coffeyville.

Gay Clock
Chancellor's Secretary

Gay Lynn oversees the chancellor's schedule and calendar as well as arranging his travel itineraries and personal correspondence. She earned her Executive Secretary degree from Central Business College. Born in Winfield, raised in Greensburg and Larned, Gay Lynn is a lifelong Kansan.

Debra Bia
Administrative Assistant, Sr.

Debra serves as Mary Burg’s assistant and coordinates a variety of events. She currently serves on the Employee Recognition Committee and the Faculty and Unclassified Staff Retirement Dinner Committee. She joined the staff in the Chancellor’s Office in March 2008, after working in the Provost’s Office for six years. She is a native of Cherryvale, Kansas and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Pittsburg State University.

Wendy Bridges

Wendy serves as the Senior Administrative Assistant to Jeff Weinberg, Assistant to the Chancellor. She coordinates Commencement activities for the Chancellor’s office as well as international alumni receptions, and she assists with other special events. Wendy came to the Chancellor’s office from the Endowment Association in November 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Kansas in 2000.

Jessica Pryor

Jessica serves as the office receptionist and general assistant. She handles a variety of special projects including the KU United Way Campaign. She is a recent transplant to Kansas from the DC metro area. A former gallery director and sales executive, Jessica is especially enjoying the lighter traffic in Lawrence. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Museum Studies. She has mastered the waving of the wheat and looks forward to getting to know many more KU traditions.
